The
British cemetery at Tilly-sur-Seulles holds the bodies of 986 British
soldiers, 2 New Zealanders, 1 Canadian, 1
Australian and 232 Germans – in all, some 1,222 graves.
These men were killed in the middle of June
1944, during the bloody fighting to capture the small town of
Tilly-sur-Seulles.
